Why Tolie Goes to Farmer Terry

Farmer Terry is the apparently helpful figure Eliot sends Tolie to during her search for her father, connecting the early farm route with the later birthday puzzles in Terry's House. That helpful introduction takes on a darker tone as the farm and house become horror-puzzle spaces.

02

Where the Farm and House Fit in Tolie's Journey

Farmer Terry's Farm is the setting for Chapter 2, where you find four containers and place them in matching pipes. Terry's House follows in Chapter 3, with puzzles involving birthday candles, a garage safe, an upstairs locked box and a gramophone. Think of these as distinct parts of Terry's role in the route: the farm sends you between buildings for containers, while the house directs your attention toward birthday objects, pictures, posters and sound.

How the Rules and Frightening Changes Affect the Route

The opening tells Tolie to stay on the path, remain where the speaker can see her and avoid doors marked Staff Only. The farm's fuel route takes you to an employee locker inside a warehouse-like room bearing a NO ENTRY poster. Keep those narrative warnings separate from the puzzle instructions: that locker contains the key needed to open the Windmill.

The unsettling turn also appears in the farm's landmarks: a blood trail, a Barn marked by flashing police lights and a newspaper clipping near its entrance. Later, mannequins blocking doors can make the house's Kitchen look different when you return. Read Terry's apparently helpful introduction alongside these changes in atmosphere, while keeping any explanation of his motives separate from the actions needed to progress.

Spoilers: Key Landmarks on Terry's Farm

The steps below reveal farm locations and a story outcome. Use these landmarks to connect Terry's setting with what Tolie actually needs to do there. The liquid insecticide comes through a story sequence, so its route differs from simply finding a container on a shelf.

  1. Follow the candy trail up the large wooden stairs to reach the upper room containing the sugar container.
  2. Search the open employee locker in the warehouse room marked NO ENTRY to find the Windmill key.
  3. Unlock the Windmill with that key to enter the area where the fuel container is hidden behind a cardboard cow.
  4. Turn the wooden wheel after solving the colored-pipe puzzle in Harley and Clark's Hen House; the mechanism activates and the wheel breaks off.
  5. Pick up the broken wooden wheel so you have it for the next part of the puzzle sequence.
  6. Search behind The Nursery's left staircase to find the pig feed container.
  7. Pick up the newspaper clipping near the Barn entrance, using the flashing police lights to identify the building.
  8. Follow the blood trail again to continue toward the story sequence that ends with you waking while holding the liquid insecticide container.
  9. Insert the liquid insecticide into the final pipe inside the now-open Nursery to complete that container placement.

Spoilers: The Birthday Puzzles in Terry's House

The house section shifts your attention to birthday candles, a present and clues hidden around the rooms. Useful landmarks include the Kitchen, the living room with the TV and piano, the garage and the upstairs area near Ms. Mable's seated mannequin. Match your current task to its room before searching elsewhere.

  1. Open the kitchen cabinets one after another to trigger the chair-scraping sound and the appearance of a chair beside the counter.
  2. Push the chair into the marked position near the oven, using the ghostly placement guide to line it up.
  3. Climb onto the chair to reach the shelf above the oven where the birthday candles are kept.
  4. Count the objects in the living-room paintings clockwise, starting with the egg on the left wall and ending with the full-grown chickens, to work out the garage safe combination.
  5. Open the garage safe with the painting combination to gain access to the present inside.
  6. Compare the reward amounts on the matching missing-child posters upstairs, beside Ms. Mable's seated mannequin and in the room opposite, for the locked box combination.
  7. Tune the gramophone's three knobs with the vinyl record in place until a clear piano melody signals the correct alignment.

How Mr. T and Dr. Valteri Connect to Terry

The ARG connects Mr. T to Terry through the fictional old show: Mr. T is described as Farmer Terry's voice performer. That establishes a relationship between a performer and a character. It does not establish that the Farmer Terry encountered in the park is literally Dr. Valteri.

Treat a direct identification of the park character with Mr. T or Dr. Valteri as an interpretation. When connecting the lore, keep the fictional voice performance separate from the full game's farm and house events. Follow the rooms, objects and story triggers for progression, and consider the identity theory separately when interpreting Terry's role.
